Margery
S. Davidson
Margery has been a woman business owner for over 21 years.
When Margery opened her first business Davidson's Bookkeeping
and Tax Service in 1983, it was not a surprising step for
her to make. She comes from a family of small business owners.
While studying for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam
Margery built her bookkeeping and tax business and passed
the Enrolled Agent's exam given by the Internal Revenue Service.
With this accreditation she was able to expand her practice
by representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service
in tax audits. Even after passing the written CPA exam, to
become licensed she needed two years experience with a public
accounting firm. In order to gain this experience, Margery
hired two employees to help keep her business running while
she worked to fulfill the experience requirement for her license.
After receiving her license she promptly changed the name
of her company to Margery S. Davidson, CPA. Through the years,
business consulting has become a large part of her practice.
In 2000 Margery spun off this part of the practice into her
company Davidson's Business Development Team, Inc. She has
taken courses in several areas of business development and
has become a member of Results Accountants' Systems and Results
Accountants' Network - an international organization that
enables her to consult with other accountants involved in
business development throughout the world.
James
J. Nelson
A New York native, Jim’s original trade was as an electrician.
While working as such in New York City he moved to New Jersey
in the early 1960’s and bought a home in Aberdeen (then called
Matawan). Little did he know, this was to be the future home
of Margery S. Davidson, CPA personal service corporation.
After 25 years of working in the city, Jim opened his own
business which he ran until the late 1990’s. Jim obtained
his certification as an Enrolled Agent in 1993 which earned
him the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal
Revenue Service. He then went to work with his wife, Margery
Davidson, assisting in the preparation of individual tax returns.
Now years later, Jim still prepares many individual tax returns
but is also in charge of the company’s payroll, internal bookkeeping,
and information technology.
Stephanie
Geisel
Born in North Carolina, Stephanie was only a few months old
before she migrated to New Jersey. While growing up in Aberdeen,
New Jersey, with her mother Margery Davidson and step-father
James Nelson, Stephanie spent many hours helping out at her
mother’s office over the years. After high school Stephanie’s
intentions were to enter the law enforcement field. After
attending the Monmouth County Police Academy and then working
as a part-time police officer, Stephanie realized that law
enforcement was not the profession for her. She returned to
college and eventually obtained her Bachelor and Master degrees
in Accounting from Kean University. After college she came
on full time with her mother’s firm and a year later became
a partial owner. Stephanie is currently preparing for the
Certified Public Accounting exam and is the company’s business
client manager.

Angel
Baby's Halo
Born in May 2003, Halo began working with the company in July
2003. Though some of her co-workers feel she sometimes slacks
in performing her job requirements, she always approaches
each task with 100%. Halo’s job responsibilities are morning
greetings, client arrival notifications, cardboard deconstruction,
and garbage sorting.
Kit
the Kat
Working with Margery the longest of any other team member,
Kit the Kat took a sabbatical in July of 2003 when Halo came
onboard. He has resumed his work responsibilities on a part-time
basis and other team members suspect he’ll come back full-time
in the near future. Kit’s job responsibilities are paper weight
and dog herding.
